Ok. So our last game in Cincy didn’t go exactly as we’d hoped with a walk-off pinch hit single by the Reds’ Chris Heisey.
But we took Game 2 with a couple more big blasts from Beltran and Freese. And let’s not forget the fact that we won 2 out of 3 facing both of the teams that most analysts consider our biggest competition in the NL Central. All in all, I would consider our 5-2 road start a huge success!
With today being an off day, I’d like to talk about what we’re all most excited about…Yes, our Cardinals are coming home! And tomorrow’s opener should come complete with all of the fanfare that makes St. Louis “Baseball Heaven.”
A sold-out crowd, the Clydesdales, Team Fredbird…what more could we ask for? I’ve been watching a lot of MLB baseball lately and when it comes to other teams, nothing I see seems to compare. I’m even planning to possibly head out in search of the best fan experience this summer (don’t forget to check out my project, Season Ticket), and I just don’t think anything will trump the majesty that is Busch Stadium.
I know we’re all counting down the moments until the starting lineup is announced and our World Champions run out to the roar of the crowd. I can’t even imagine the sights and sounds to which David Freese is going to be welcomed.
I, myself, will be wishing with every ounce of my body that I was in St. Louis as I tune in on my MLB.tv subscription. But never you fear, Cardinal Nation! I’ll get my share of live Redbird baseball on the 28th…
On that note…for those of you who will be in town and don’t have tickets to the game, I suggest you check out this amazing event by Wehrenberg Theatres. Broadcasting the game on the big screen, and for free no less, is one of the best ideas I’ve heard in a long time!
So get ready for that sea of red because it’s coming in less than 24 hours!
