Mission Possible, Indeed!

Remember a month ago…before I started bugging everyone about this whole Fan Cave business? Me neither…
But a look back at a past blog post reminds me that I have had a very important mission to accomplish and today was the day! Yes, ever since I held that Game 6 ticket in my hand last October, I knew what I had to do.
This morning, after a couple hours’ wait, I finally entered Roger Dean Stadium sans press pass and armed with a sharpie. Can I first relate to you that Jason Motte spotted me from across the line, threw his pen in the air, and smiled, shaking his head? I feel like I’m turning into some kind of fan girl. If I get in the Cave, he is certainly someone I’ll be calling up…
I loved being able to see everyone up close and I’ve been lucky enough to have that opportunity a lot lately, but I have to say that I was still pretty much trembling by the time I got to the World Series MVP. As he graciously asked if I would like him to sign with a darker marker, I got up the courage to tell him my personal connection. He seemed absolutely delighted to hear from me and even double-checked my name, saying his mom woud love to hear my story!
When it was all said and done, I walked away with probably the biggest piece of history I will ever own. And thus the final chapter of my Red October story is finally drawn to a close.
